Massons is looking for highly intelligent and driven paralegals to join the paralegal pool at our commercial property specialist firm. Reporting to the partners and lawyers of that team, our paralegals work on a wide range of premium commercial property matters, providing both legal and administrative support.
The position is based in the Sydney CBD and we will provide training for the role.
We are looking to employ casual paralegals to be part of the paralegal pool, initially for a 6 month period, and to work during that time on an “as needed” basis. Generally, most paralegals will work with us 1 or 2 days per week, depending on our lawyers’ need for support and their university commitments. We will run a formal recruitment process once each year to refresh and extend the available pool of talented paralegals. Some of our paralegals stay with us beyond the 6 month initial employment period.
You should be aware that Massons has a history of employing graduates straight from its paralegal pool, which has the advantage of our graduates being advanced in their legal knowledge and skills, even before they complete their final practical legal training component of study and are admitted as lawyers. Whilst many paralegals leave us to pursue different careers, we are very proud of the current lawyers who have started with us as part of the paralegal pool.
To be considered for this role, you will be technically savvy, motivated and a team player. You will care about our lawyers and clients and the outcomes they are seeking to achieve. We are looking for employees who we can invest in to become excellent lawyers, and who ideally want to develop a career as part of our team. Previous experience as a paralegal is not required, though will be preferred. You must be a current law student to apply for this role.
Ideally you will:
